Welcome
This Sustainable Community Strategy has been produced by the Mansfield Area Strategic Partnership (MASP) in conjunction with Mansfield District Council.
It is the overarching strategic plan for the District of Mansfield and links directly both to regional plans & strategies and to the plans developed at community and neighbourhood level.
It is based on the things that you have told us are important. It recognises that many positive steps have been taken towards physical and social regeneration in our district but that there is still much to do. We know that ambitious plans need good people to make them happen – we hope you will share our determination and be part of our vision for the future.
The Partnership
By working together on the ‘Big Picture’, we can achieve much more than we can separately. MASP has an important role to bring together our main organisations and communities to make things happen. This strategy is an agreed statement by our core members, who are:
- Alliance Sub-Regional Strategic Partnership
- The Business Sector: Mansfield 2020, Notts Chamber of Commerce
- Jobcentre Plus
- Mansfield Community & Voluntary Service
- Mansfield Community Empowerment Network
- Mansfield District Council
- Nottinghamshire County Teaching Primary Care Trust
- Nottinghamshire County Council
- Nottinghamshire Police
- West Nottinghamshire College
Of course, we are working on this strategy with many other organisations and partnerships across the District, the wider region and nationally. All contributing organisations and partnerships are listed on our website.
The Story So Far
The strategy builds on the first ‘Big Picture’ published in 2003. Its purpose remains the same: to set a shared vision and agreed priorities for the District of Mansfield and to provide a framework for co-operation and delivery of services.
We have consulted widely to check and confirm with you that the priorities in this strategy are the right ones. We have talked with different neighbourhood and community groups and to younger and older people alike. We have listened to all our public service providers and to our voluntary sector colleagues. We are grateful for all your views and comments.
Although we have set our vision through to 2015, we will refresh this strategy every three years and we will review our action plans every year.
